This ceremony is hold in order to show gratefulness to the patriotic scholar Phan Boi Chau, praise the tight friendship between Phan Boi Chau and Dr. Asaba Sakitaro, celebrate the 105th anniversary of Đông Du Movement, the 100th and 70th anniversary of the death of Dr. Asaba Sakitaro and Phan Boi Chau respectively, and show the friendship between Thua Thien Hue Province and Fukuroi City (Japan).

This memorial stele is made thanks to the contribution of 200 kind Japanese people of Fukuroi City and awarded to Thua Thien Hue Province by Asaba Association.

In the afternoon of the same day, Asaba Vietnam Association and Thua Thien Hue Association of Science and History co-ordinated to organize a workshop and DVD projection of the friendship between Phan Boi Chau and Dr. Asaba Sakitaro in Đông Du Movement at Hue Pedagogy University.
