The People's Committee and the Palm Gardens resort welcomed the environmental diplomats in traditional rites accorded to special guests visiting the city. In the morning, the delegates biked around the city to show the world the importance of energy conservation. In the afternoon, the girls planted trees in the resort lining the walkway towards the beach as their contribution to saving mother earth. And at exactly 7pm in the evening, lights were turned off in the ancient city for one hour while the girls in attendance paraded inside the walled city carrying the beautiful multi-colored lanterns made in the centuries-old city, bringing a simple but symbolic message to conserve energy.

Water is this year's environmental theme during the Miss Earth 2010 Coronation Night which will be held on Sat., Dec. 4, 2010, 9:00 beamed live from Vinpearl, Nha Trang in Vietnam on the Star World Network and airing on Sunday, Dec. 5 at ABS CBN Channel 2 the day after and a later telecast on The Filipino Channel worldwide.
