Tourism industry in Quảng Ninh has recently witnessed impressive development for both infrastructure and services which attracted more and more travelers to the province.
 
Quảng Ninh welcomed 4.8 million visitors and had a turnover of VND 2,800 billion (about USD 140 million) in 2009. At the beginning of this year, the province targeted to attract 5.2 million visitors, 2.4 million of whom are foreign ones and reach a turnover of VND 3.000 billion (about USD 150 million).
 
However, only in the first nine months, the number of tourists to Quảng Ninh has reached 5.7 million, equal to 113.8 percent of the year plan, up 42 percent over the same period, of which 1.468 million international visitors (63.8 percent of the year plan). The total revenue increased by 22% to VND 2,578 billion.
 
The dramatic increase in the number of travelers to Quảng Ninh in the first nine months is due to both subjective and objective reasons.
 
It can be seen that Quảng Ninh has improved to be a good place for event planning business. There were lots of important events taken place in this province in the first nine months such as the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum 2010 (EATOF), the world's most beautiful bays club conference, the national pageant “Miss Vietnam” 2010, the international women volleyball competition (held by Volleyball World Federation), etc.
 
Moreover, Quảng Ninh has paid much attention to develop tourism infrastructure as well. The number as well as the quality of guest houses, hotels, traveling ships and tourist sites has continuously increased. Tourism services have also been expanded and improved in order to satisfy the increasing demand of visitors and locals.
 
Besides, all of tourism activities within Quảng Ninh have been under strict government control to ensure high efficiency, price stability, social security and order, etc. so that every visitor wants to come back to Quảng Ninh again./.
